“3Dam Vajont�, multimedia exhibition on the Vajont of today which has been planned and realised by Virtualgeo with “Ecomuseo Vajont: continuità di vita� for the Regional Museum of Natural Science of Turin, closed on last 6th January. The exhibition, which was featured by the use of stereoscopy as main communication system ,was opened on 21st.September 2007. “3Dam Vajont� has presented a review of stereoscopic photos of the valley of the Vajont stream, the dam structure with its tunnels and inner pipes, the landscape beauties, the typical architectures and the every day life in the old towns. The dam was examined from unusual points of views also by air stereoscopic photos. Innovative technologies (laser scanner) for the environmental survey allowed to obtain images that clearly deliver the shape and proportions of the dam, landslide and valley, allowing to see in a simultaneous “transparent� view elements which are normally hidden. The power of the “three-dimensional� images in stereoscopic vision was accompanied by on old video documentary on the dam building phase and by a selection of witnesses, concerning the Vajont dam disaster, which were excerpted from a recent movie. The Virtualgeo department Urban Art and Cultural Events planned the event, realised the stereoscopic photographic campaign and the montage of the stereoscopic images in five thematic videos, set up the exhibition path composed of five stereoscopic boxes and edit the graphic design of the advertising material (brochures, leaflets, invitations, big size printings).
